Mason Valley Telephone & Telegraph Co
Formed in the early 1890’s and enduring through a succession of owners, the “telephone” was introduced at Yerington in 1898. Dr. Granville Leavitt, Ed Lamb & J.I. Wilson were the principals in constructing the first line into town from Wabuska, twelve miles to the north. The property was later operated as the Yerington Electric Co. and then as the Walker River Telephone Co. This building served as the office for the M.V.T.&T.
